I was born in the north of Romania in the Transylvania region in a city with medieval architecture and significant marks of the Austro-Hungarian Empire: Trâgu-Mureş.  I moved to the south of  the country, in  Bucharest to complete my studies and obtained my BA in Visual Art & Sculpture in the mid 90's.  Since then I have visited Italy on a number to occasions to study its Renaissance and Ancient heritage.

Formative Years

My first memory of clay was the trek in hard winter during childhood with a sledge to 'beg' the brick factory's watchmen for some clay from which I made my first toys and pots.   During my teens and whilst still at school, I built my first steel structure by welding and shaping a human figure to be finished using clay.
